No, it’s not Book of Ra this time, but Book of Ba instead. Let’s look at this new slot by Tom Horn Gaming that was published in April 2020.

Book of Ba is an Ancient Egypt themed slot aiming to answer to the hard competition in this slot genre. Competition is tough and let’s see if Book of Ba can deliver it.

Just to refresh your memory from the history classes, Ra was the ancient Egyptian deity of the sun. Ba however was a some kind of a human-headed bird. The Ba bird was often shown hovering over the deceased’s mummy or leaving the tomb at will.

The slot Book of Ba consists of a basic 5 x 3 slot board and there are 9 fixed pay lines.

The speciality is that the winning symbols explode and more drop down from above. Win Multiplier is increased by each shatter by one, going up to 4. The Shatter mode comes to an end when the Multiplier reaches x4 or no more winning combinations appear on the reels.

Here is the symbol shattering in process after a win. Notice the Multiplier bar in the top right corner of the reels. Multiplier will go up one level after each shattering until x4.

If you get 3 Book symbols that will trigger 10 Free Spins. However the free spins are not granted if they are accumulated during the Shatter mode. Free spins are retriggerable during the Free Spins Bonus Game.

There were one bug (or flaw) when testing the game, the options screen was empty. I don’t know what was supposed to be there, but at least I couldn’t find Fast or Quick Play mode.

In conclusion Book of Ba is quite decent slot game. It has no major flaws and everything works well. There are enough special features to keep the play interesting.

If looked more closely, Book of Ba doesn’t shine in any section. The graphics, animations, gameplay, sounds are all on average level. Just enough, but nothing special. The top of the competition (read TOP 5 game providers for example) are way ahead in all these areas.

But anyway Book of Ba is one of the newest and best slot of Tom Horn Gaming and it is a good spot to improve games and make them better and fluent in the future.

Spinball is not a slot game, but it was so different I just had to take a look. Spinball is a classic arcade game Pinball turned into a money game. Each “spin” means one ball released to bounce around the machine.

Each hit or route inside the Pinball machine results in a small win. The more the ball bounces inside, more you win.

In conclusion Spinball is really something different and innovative. Spinball combines well a pinball arcade game to a slot format. The game was actually quite fun to play for some time.

Graphics and audio are on an average level. Nothing special, but doesn’t look or sound horrible either. The vertical game table however doesn’t work very well in desktop computers as the play area is quite small.

If you want something different and refreshing after slots, Spinball is really worth testing out. Spinball brings fast paced action in a true 80’s Pinball arcade hall style.

Dragon Egg is a fantasy themed slot starring…Dragon Eggs! Basically the slot is a 5 x 3 slot with 9 fixed paylines. The maximum win is pretty big with 10,000x and the RTP (Return to player) rate is also on average/good level with 96.44 %.

Let’s take a look to the special features. If you get 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols trigger the Dragon Egg bonus feature.

In conclusion Dragon Egg slot looks all right with graphics. But in the gameplay smoothness, animations and sounds & music this slot is a lot behind the best competition. But otherwise it wasn’t too distracting and the overall gameplay made that up a lot.

The bonus features are simple and chasing the Free Spins Bonus Game was fun. Especially the Dragon Egg bonus feature is cool with choosing the Dragon Eggs one by one. Of course the result is still random, but I like the illusion to make your own choice and affect your destiny. Or at least have the feeling of it.

The RTP being quite good and variance is set to High, so Dragon Egg has a possibility to win huge if you are lucky.

2. Diamond Hill (Published November 2019)

Diamond Hill is a gem slot published in December 2019 with a really interesting symbol structure. The symbols are laid out in a 1-3-4-3-1 reel order.

There are 36 betting lines. The winning symbols have to be adjacent starting from leftmost reel going to right, no gaps are allowed in the winning line. The max win is 200x bet.

Wild symbols appear only on the reels 1 and 5 and they substitute all other symbols. Wilds randomly change multipliers from x1 to x9.

The Wild symbols (here on the left) turn also into Multipliers varying from x1 to x9. This time all wins were multiplied by x7.

Any win consisting of a Wild symbol triggers a Respin feature. All winning symbols stick into place and all non-winning symbols respin. New symbols that are part of a winning combination will lock in place and the reels spin again. Respin continues until no more winning combinations appear.

Here’s the Respin feature in action. All wins that are part of a Wild symbol will have a Respin.

In conclusion Diamond Hill is pretty cool slot. The symbol layout is interesting and the Wild Multipliers can bring big winnings. In general you can feel that the variance is set to High, as the winnings happened quite rarely but they were bigger than usual.

The graphics and sounds don’t bring anything special to the game, but they are on a decent level. There was a Turbo mode (Fast play) on the options screen, but nothing happened when I clicked it. All in all Diamond Hill is a basic gem slot with few features and quite different symbol layout.

Triple Joker is probably one of the ugliest slot games of all times, so I had to take a look to this piece of excellence!

Triple Joker is a 5 x 3 reel structure slot game with quite good RTP (Return to player) rate of 97.0 %. The game was published in 2017, but it really looks it was made in 1995 on the time Netscape and Altavista. Online slots probably didn’t exist back then, but the outlook is true 1990s. That’s definitely a big plus. Triple Joker is so ugly, it’s looks actually pretty cool!

The slot features a Wild symbol which is the Jester (the Clown dude). The Wild symbol is also the best paying symbol.

The graphics and sounds of Triple Joker are straight from a Eastern European brick-and-mortar casino from the 1990s.

Triple Joker has also a Gamble feature. After every win, if you haven’t reached your gamble limit, you will be presented with the Gamble button. You can choose to Collect your wins or Gamble to double them.

The very interesting Gambling feature looks like this. Do you have the courage to take part in this?

All in all the features in Triple Joker are really simple. There are only Wilds and the Gamble feature, that’s it. But it’s also somewhat refreshing. Triple Joker is just an old school slot game that looks and sounds rude, but still has pretty good RTP of 97.0 %.

Triple Joker is a true legend. If you love slots, you just have to try Triple Joker. This is a challenge – how long can you take it?

There is also one very positive side about Triple Joker. After playing it, every other slot sounds and feels superb. Maybe that is a sign of a really good slot as it makes all other slots shine around it?
