I can’t help but get Gonzo’s Quest vibes from Aztec Cluster even though it’s on a smaller scale. Even the soundtrack is very reminiscent if you pay attention. A big grid is always more interesting and I like the look of this game.

Not My First Choice

I know I’m not among the players this game is created for but I can see the charm in it for those who are. It’s way too childish for me but for those of you who find it appealing, there are some decent features in there that could help you be successful.

Wild Chicago

Wild Chicago boasts a 5×3 layout with 10 paylines, accompanied by a unique twist – an array of animal characters dressed as if they belong to a mafia. As for the base game, there aren’t many noteworthy features apart from the multiplier wild symbols, which showcase a charismatic crocodile character.

However, things get more interesting when you land three or more scatter symbols, triggering the bonus round. This grants you a reward of 15 free spins to enjoy. What’s particularly exciting is that all wins during this bonus round are tripled with a 3x multiplier.

As far as my overall impression of Wild Chicago, to be honest, it’s a bit of a mixed bag for me. While the game certainly holds excellent win potential, I must admit that it lacks a certain level of excitement during gameplay. It could benefit from more animated animal symbols when they align or perhaps some livelier music to enhance the overall experience. 

That being said, I did have fun playing the game. I won a total of 30 free spins by landing additional scatter symbols along the reels during my bonus round. This unexpected boost definitely made my investment in the bonus buy feature, which cost 100x, worthwhile. I even had a few sizeable wins during the bonus game.

In the base game, the main feature is the multiplier wild symbols, which can add to some decent-sized wins. Additionally, landing three scatter symbols will grant you 15 free spins to play with. Similar to Wild Chicago, all wins during the bonus round are tripled with a 3x multiplier.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, Savage Buffalo Spirit falls short in both creativity and innovation. It appears that the designers merely slapped a new skin on an old game and called it a day. The artwork within this game is particularly disappointing. I couldn’t help but notice something off about the brown bear’s eyes. They just don’t look right. During my playthrough,  the bonus round did not yield any additional free spins, and I only managed to land one sizable win. 

To put it bluntly, Savage Buffalo Spirit is not a slot game that I would recommend. It fails to deliver on almost every measure. Overall, this game is a hard pass for me.

5. Deep Sea

BGaming’s Deep Sea is a brand new deep sea themed slot game (sorry for the pun) published in January 2020. The feeling of being underwater is really immersive with the cool animations and flowing medusas and other glowing underwater thingies. The slot board is quite basic 5 x 3. The soundtrack is really calming and fits the theme like a glove.

This is BGaming’s Deep Sea slot with underwater feeling and a lot of medusas. Or some other aliens.

For some reason my quite powerful test laptop (Macbook Pro 2017) started to run very hot during the testing of Deep Sea. This hasn’t happened before, so probably Deep Sea is really demanding for the computer CPU or graphics card. But this is probably just bad optimization from BGaming as this is not even a hard core 3D game with complicated visual effects. This is basically just a slot game with nice graphics.

Deep Sea features many familiar slot symbols. There is the Wild symbol that substitutes other symbols in the game. If you gather Scatter symbols, you will get free spins. Three Scatters will grant you 10 free spins, with 4 Scatters you get 12 and with 5 Scatters 15 free spins.

I found the return to player % to be 94% from an internet source (not BGaming). So if that is true, to me 94% feels a little low. Usually the RTP percentages should be around 96% at least.
