There are few icons that are able to compete with Snoop Dogg in terms of staying current through decade after decade. Depending on your age, you might know him as a rapper, an actor, some guy from tv-commercials or perhaps the funny guy who went to the Paris Olympics as a NBC correspondent etc. Whatever it is, the man is an absolute legend and it was no surprise when he started showing up as a Roobet ambassador and other ways in the casino industry.
This time, he’s collaborating with BGaming in the brand new Snoop Dogg Dollars slot! Everything this man touches turns to gold, so the expectations are high (yes, that’s an intentional pun).
Can BGaming help him light another blunt and deliver another hit? I have my doubts about this one but let’s see.
Back to the Streets
Taking us into the streets with graffiti covered walls, sirens in the background and of course Snoop puffin’ away at a ginormous blunt sounds like a winning recipe. At first glance it also looks like it because the colors are nice and poppin’ and the graphics look crisp. Pitbulls, bulldogs and dobermans rule the massive 6×8 grid.
The game is all about creating winning clusters and you need 5 or more matching symbols in order to do so. Due to Cluster Pay, any symbols involved in a win will be removed and replaced, giving you a shot at increasing your win even more before moving on to the next.
High Minimum Bet
I’m a fan of high variance slots, in this case it’s even very high, but something that does concern me about Snoop Dogg Dollars is the fact that the minimum bet is at €0.50, which is quite high. There will be a lot of players staying away because of that reason, even if there’s a 10,000x multiplier in play.
Released: October 2024 | RTP: 97.00% | Variance: Very High |
Min Bet: €0.50 | Max Bet: €40.00 | Max Payout: 10,000x |
Maximize on the Cell Multiplier
One of the features is known as the Cell Multiplier. The way it works is that each winning cluster will mark the cells. If the next win takes place on a marked cell, it will get a multiplier added, starting at 2x and increasing by x2 for every new win that specific cell is involved in.
With a bit of luck, your cells can grow up to 10x. All the multipliers within a cluster are summarized at the end and can get you a pretty nice payout. I managed to get one of them to go all the way up to 50x during my run. You’ll see Snoop show up on your screen, dancing with some girls as he celebrates your big win.
Digging Up a Symbol
One feature that sticks out is the Dig-Up. I mentioned earlier about the Cluster Pay and how winning clusters disappear after a win, leaving the cells empty to be refilled. This is the window of opportunity for you and the Dig-Up.
When a cell is empty, there’s a chance that 1 of 4 bonus symbols can appear, or be “dug up”.
- Scatter
- Wild
- Weed Symbol
- Skull Symbol
Skulls and Weed
Scatters and Wilds are pretty much self explanatory but I’ll touch on those later. The other symbols, on the other hand, need some further explanation.
- Weed Symbol
The fact that there’s a weed symbol in this game is hardly a surprise. When you manage to dig one up though, it will upgrade all your multipliers on screen and then poof – it disappears.
- Skull Symbols
This guy will destroy all the low paying symbols on the screen.
Snoop Dogg Dollars Free Spins
In order to get a shot at Snoop and his Free Spins, you need to land scatters and at least 3 of them. Depending on how many you land, you’ll be able to cash in on a decent amount of Free Spins:
- 3 Scatters = 10 Free Spins
- 4 Scatters = 12 Free Spins
- 5 Scatters = 15 Free Spins
- 6 Scatters = 20 Free Spins
In the cells that helped trigger the Free Spins, you will get a 10x multiplier before you begin to spin. You can retrigger the bonus round if you land the same amount of scatters again. I did not manage to retrigger mine.
With the help of the big multipliers, I could score some big wins and once again watch Snoop do his thang in the winner graphics.
Wilds Get Sticky
What I liked about the bonus round is the fact that the Wilds get sticky all throughout your Free Spins and therefore you can keep increasing your multipliers. Remember how the maximum multiplier could reach 10x in the base game? Well, during Free Spins, it can get all the way up to 100x!
As you can see in the screenshot above, I managed to get it up to 80x.
Big Win Bonus Round
When my bonus round was all said and done, my total win added up to 241x, which I was quite happy with.
Buy Free Spins
BGaming was kind enough to include the Bonus Buy feature, giving players a chance to pay for your Free Spins if you would like to. It will cost you between 100x to 800x your bet, but there are a few different options available:
- Free Spins without guaranteed Wilds
- Free Spins with 1 guaranteed Wild
- Free Spins with 2 guaranteed Wild
- Free Spins with 3 guaranteed Wild
Get Your Snoop Spin
Besides the Bonus Buy, you can also spend some cash on something called the Snoop Spin. This will guarantee you to dig up at least 1 Wild symbol before the start of the spin.
According to the BGaming, the Snoop Spin feature is very volatile, but who knows what that really entails. Maybe you could get a whole bunch of Wilds, which wouldn’t be a bad scenario at all.
Snoop Dogg Dollars – Pass or Play?
Let’s be honest, Snoop is the man and has always been. He has done a lot to entertain us over the years but I’m not sure the Snoop Dogg Dollars slot is a winner. Obviously it’s on BGaming and not Snoop, but it is still his brand that’s being used.
The game looks great and has the small Snoop sayings popping up here and there. There are also some features that aren’t bad at all, but for some reason it plays slow. What I mean by that is that despite all the features, it doesn’t feel like there’s anything happening.
Maybe it was just during my test run, where things weren’t quite going my way. Even so, I didn’t feel like I was having a good time playing.
Second Time’s the Charm?
I had to go back at a later time to see if I could get to the Free Spins because it was impossible the first time around. My second time did allow me to try the bonus round but since I was really struggling the first time, my experience was already tainted.
It hurt to say it but it’s a pass for me and I won’t be coming back for more ❌
