Since the very beginning, one of the big battles in life has been good vs evil. This obviously becomes even more evident with the concept of heaven and hell. We have been told it’s one or the other but thanks to Pragmatic Play and Zeus vs Hades Gods of War, you can now experience both.
What’s the difference you may ask? Well, besides the obvious, it all comes down to what level of volatility you think you can handle.
Tag along as I’m about to embark on an adventure to find out more about what Zeus and Hades have in store for us.
Rockin’ Graphics
Before we get into the nitty gritty, I always look at the graphics and there’s no doubt that Pragmatic Play has delivered once again. The details are crisp and enticing, leaving you wanting more, which is how a game should be if you ask me. That’s definitely not the case but Pragmatic is one of the providers you can always count on.
RTP: 96.07%
Paylines: 15
Multiplier: 15,000x
Volatility: High or Extra High
Heaven or Hell? Choose Your Destination
The first thing you have to do is to pick where you prefer to play. Do you take on the role as a saint and spend your time with Zeus in Olympus or do you give the world the finger and head down below to Hades and a world on fire?
Like the daredevil I am, I opted to start with warmer temperatures.
Expanding Multipliers
Basically the one and only special feature is the Expanding Wilds with Multipliers. They can appear on any of the reels and when they do, they will expand across the entire reel.
The possible multipliers you can get range from 2x up to a much more attractive 100x.
Different Odds of Getting Free Spins
Hades brings Very High Volatility compared to Mount Olympus High Volatility. Your odds of hitting the Free Spins is lower but the average wins of a Free Spins round is supposedly higher.
Olympus on the other hand provides a higher chance of Free Spins but a lower average win.
Buy Free Spins
Regardless of where you end up, you will be glad to know there is the option of buying Free Spins, which is always nice. It will cost you 75x your stake to get standard Free Spins in Olympus vs 150x with Hades.
There are also special Free Spins available, in which one expanding Wild is guaranteed to hit with a random multiplier on the first spin. This version will cost you 300x independent of your location.
I decided to pull the trigger on the cheapest option in order to get an idea of what to expect.
Olympus Free Spins
If you don’t want to cough up the money, you can get Free Spins the regular way of course by landing 3 scatters. In the bonus round, any expanding Wild that hits will expand, leading to a random multiplier.
Unfortunately I found the bonus round to be pretty boring to be honest and I had higher expectations from a game like this. Even the multipliers felt pretty lame but perhaps it’s different if I had managed to pull off some big wins, which I didn’t.
Conclusion
Ok, so if this is Heaven and Hell, I’m hoping there’s a third option because this wasn’t much fun. Pragmatic Play is one of my favorite providers but besides the spectacular graphics, there wasn’t much in terms of entertainment value.
I did enjoy the fact that Hades looks like Gerard Butler with his head on fire but that was pretty much the only thing that made me smile.
Your experience can still be incredible as it all comes down to whether or not you manage to win or not. To each his own and I still think you should give it a go and see what you think.
You can find the game at BitStarz, Kryptosino and Stake.com among others.
Good luck!
