Since the 1930’s, people have been drawn to the glitz and glamor of the Las Vegas Strip like moths to a flame. Neon signs and blinking lights are in many ways our kryptonite and the fact that Vegas continues to grow and attract even more people is a testament to the never ending appeal of old school casino action.
The Bruno’s Vegas Gold Blitz slot is a new release by Quickfire and they are pushing the Vegas phenomenon I just mentioned. We’ve seen Bruno the Rooster before and this time he’s taking over The Strip with Jackpots, Bonus Buys and the Gold Blitz feature.
Is it enough to blind us with potential or is it a lame attempt at selling us a pipe dream? Hop on today’s choo-choo train and let’s find out!
Purple Rain But Where’s Las Vegas?
Ok, so purple seems to be the choice here, which is fine. Considering it’s a Vegas themed slot though, I’m a bit surprised that there aren’t more images of The Strip or any of the Vegas landmarks on display. I mean, blinking lights alone doesn’t create the same authentic Vegas vibe as many other games.
Bruno in the top right corner does look like the infamous Vegas Vic though so I guess that counts for something.
The game has a 6×4 reel setup which looks quite fun and busy on the other hand, so I guess they decided to go all in on the reels and let the color purple take care of the rest.
Perhaps Prince said it best when he sang “All that Glitters Ain’t Gold”.
Ocean 11 Soundtrack?
I think Bruno the Rooster and his girl could be this generation’s Roger and Jessica Rabbit! Oh, before I forget. The soundtrack gives me Ocean 11 vibes. Do you agree?

Get Your Cash with the Collect Symbol
The guy you want to look out for is the lightning bolt or as it is known in this game, the Collect symbol. It can and will appear on the first and last reel. When it lands, it will trigger the Collect feature and add up all the cash value symbols that are on the reels.
The value of the Cash symbols ranges from 0.5x up to 20x. If you happen to land both lightning bolts on the same spin, both of them will collect all the cash, meaning you’ll get paid double.
Get Up to 30 Free Spins
To keep things simple, the scatter symbol says “Bonus” and if you can land 3 or more of them you’ll, surprise surprise, trigger Free Spins and the payoff is quite good:.
- 3 Scatters = 8 Free Spins or 2 Spins in Gold Blitz
- 4 Scatters = 12 Free Spins or 3 Spins in Gold Blitz
- 5 Scatters = 20 Free Spins or 5 Spins in Gold Blitz
- 6 Scatters = 30 Free Spins or 7 Spins in Gold Blitz
Double Bonus Rounds – Take Your Pick
Before you get to start chasing the big bucks, you’ll have a choice to make. There are two types of bonus rounds and you need to pick one of them:
- Free Spins
If you pick Free Spins, every Wild symbol comes with a 2x-5x multiplier when part of a win.
- Gold Blitz
Only Collect, Cash and Jackpot symbols appear in the Gold Blitz™ feature. Like Hold & Win, your spin count resets every time you land a symbol. Also, you are guaranteed to get a Collect symbol on the first reel every time. With a bit of luck you can get one on reel 6 as well.
I wanted to try something different so I chose to play the Gold Blitz. While the purple in the base game felt quite calm, the Gold Blitz yellow screams right in your face.
The Collect symbol does all the work here but I manage to get a couple of decent wins, including one of €11.70. How egg-citing!
Minor, Major and Mega Jackpot
As you can see on the left, there are 3 Jackpots in play. As long as you get your Collect symbol, you can grab one of them. They are respectively worth:
- Minor = 25x
- Major = 250x
- Mega = 2,500x
Use the Bonus Buy
I was happy to see there’s a Bonus Buy feature available. You can purchase 4-6 Scatters and the asking price for the 3 options is:
- 4 Scatters = 75x Your Bet
- 5 Scatters = 120x Your Bet
- 6 Scatters = 150x Your Bet
I think the price is slightly on the higher side unfortunately but it’s always nice to have the option.
Bruno’s Vegas Gold Blitz – Pass or Play? ❌
I can’t say I’m impressed with Bruno the Rooster and his flashy reels. The base game may look fun but it seems like Quickfire has tried to squeeze in as many symbols as possible because the reels look cluttered. Normally I’d say that’s a good thing but it looks quite messy. Sure, there are a ton of flash, glowing reels etc, which can be fun to a certain extent but when it’s too much, I’m not so sure.
What I did like is the fact that there are two types of bonus games to choose from. The Gold Blitz version is pretty good but I’m also a fan of Hold & Win features, which is basically the same, which explains it. I also like the fact that they try and spice things up with some burning reels and other over the top additions.
However, even with all the glitz and glamor, something feels off, if that makes sense. I can’t really put my finger on what it is that bothers me.
Will I come back for more of Bruno’s Vegas Gold Blitz? The answer is a simple no ❌
