There are a couple of good features in Wild Phoenix Rises and I will start off with Free Spins. This isn’t the classical setup where 3 scatters will let you in the door, no sir. Instead, Mascot is using a Free Spins accumulation scale, which determines how many Free Spins and what multiplier you will be playing with.
Whenever you score a winning combo, you will fill one bar on the scale on the right. The challenge is to get enough consecutive wins to trigger Free Spins because a winless spin will reset the meter. Keep in mind that each bet level is its own accumulation.

I have to be honest and say I left the game, having mixed feelings. It looks spectacular, plays smoothly and has enough quality features to be great. I mean both a Wheel of Fortune AND Free Spins… you don’t see that in every game.
Still, as I was playing it felt like there was something missing. I hold my hands up and say that in my case, one thing that was missing was the big wins. Even when I paid the way to the bonus round, I still won very, very little, which does affect how I see the game.
I’ll just have to come back again for a rematch before I truly stamp my decision. The fact that I would go back is a very positive thing.
