With all that’s been taking place over the last few years, including the pandemic of course, there’s no denying that things have changed. The way we do business has changed and going forward in 2023 will lead to companies having to make adjustments in their marketing.
Advancements in technology and certain trends play a huge part in how brands will communicate with people going forward. But where will crypto casino marketing be taking us this year?
I’ve done some research and below are a few areas that I believe will give you an indication of where the industry marketing is going.
1) Increased Adoption
The adoption of cryptocurrency is likely to continue to grow in the next few years, despite a challenging 2022. This should then result in more players using cryptocurrency when playing at their favorite online casino.
As a result, crypto casinos will have to develop more innovative marketing strategies to both attract and retain customers.
Example
In terms of tone, perhaps it will look something like this: “Why play with boring old fiat currency when you can use Bitcoin and Ethereum to get in on the action? Join the crypto revolution and win big with X Casino.”
2) Influencer Marketing
Going forward, I believe the use of influencer marketing will probably become even more popular. It seems to be the trend within many industries, not just for casinos. By now, casinos are starting to see the true value of it. However, it needs to be done in the right way and with the right influencers that are relevant to the brands.
Stake.com has done a ton of business with Drake for example. Just because some people have a large social media following doesn’t guarantee it’s the right fit for your particular casino. Do your research before making a decision!
Example
“We’ve teamed up with the biggest influencers in the crypto world to bring you the hottest casino experience. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram to get exclusive access to their picks and predictions!”
3) Personalized Marketing
I think most of us have noticed how marketing is becoming more and more personalized. This will increase even more in 2023. The reason is of course all the data that companies are able to collect about us and our interests.
By getting even more information, brands will be able to create targeted campaigns based on data on our browsing habits, purchase history and other demographic information.
Example
“We know what you like, and we have t it all right here. Whether you’re a Bitcoin whale or a Dogecoin hodler, we’ve got the games and rewards to keep you coming back for more!”
4) Virtual and Augmented Reality
Technology never stops to amaze me and it continues to advance at a very rapid pace. As it advances even more, I’m expecting more crypto casinos to start using both virtual and augmented reality to enhance the actual player experience.
The technology itself can and will be used to create different types of immersive environments where players can get a more realistic and engaging gambling experience. Who knows how far it will go this year but it won’t take too long before it’s the norm, that’s for sure.
Example
“Get ready to step into the future of gambling with our state-of-the-art virtual casino. Explore new worlds, meet new people, and win big without ever leaving your living room!”
5) Gamification
Here is an area that I am curious to see how it will play out. Crypto casinos should be able to use certain gamification techniques to attract and retain players. Offering rewards, bonuses and other incentives for completing certain tasks or specific milestones is already used in promotions but let’s see what they can do for the overall user experience.
BitStarz is one of the best and most popular crypto casinos and had a lot of help from their Level Up Promotions, which is a favorite among players.
Example
“Why just play slots when you can level up and unlock new rewards with every spin? With our gamified casino experience, you’ll never want to stop playing (or winning)!”
6) Video-Based Content
With all the social media, people’s attention span is becoming shorter than ever before. This is why we will see a lot more video-based content. Like it or not, it’s just more easily digestible content for the users. So, I say expect to see even more YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram reels.
7) Artificial Intelligence
This year, AI-powered initiatives will make their way into our lives on a bigger scale. I think a lot of it will be used towards creating unique customer journeys and if done right, it’ll have a very positive impact on the casino industry.
8) Brand Culture
Having a powerful brand goes a long way and people are looking for a sense of belonging. What I mean by that is that certain brands have a neck for creating a culture and a massive following which is a very effective marketing tool.
It’s very hard to tell people what to do and to like something they don’t. But if you can create a brand vibe that people feel an emotional connection to, you’ve got something special.
Engaging with your players and making them feel like they are a part of something will create brand loyalty which is hard to do but oh so effective when done properly.
What’s Next?
These are just some of the ideas for 2023 and further but what are some of your predictions? Let me know in the comments below.
Good luck!
