Sports Betting is a crazy world and although it mostly consists of popular sports such as Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Hockey, there are some really bizarre bet types and sports that people actually bet on.
In the Super Bowl XLVlll game, you could bet on whether Knowshon Moreno was going to cry during the National Anthem…
He actually did!
And, at this year’s Super Bowl, you could bet on the number of hotdogs or beers sold at the State Farm Stadium.
Or the color of Rihanna’s hair during the halftime show….

But besides the weird bet types, there is an undiscovered world of bizarre sports that people take very seriously.
So, if you didn’t consider ‘’Rock, Paper, Scissors’’ as a legitimate sport, you’re going to be in for a huge surprise.
Let’s see what weird sports some folks are rooting for.
1. Cornhole
Cornhole is a game we’ve all, at some point, played with friends and family or at a country fair. It involves teams (most often pairs) attempting to throw a bag filled with corn kernels into a hole carved in a slanted wooden platform.
Yes, this!
Well, believe it or not, there is actually something like The American Cornhole League that was founded in 2015 to promote Cornhole as a sport.
It offers an app, where you can track Cornhole Tournaments, Events, Leagues, and Betting Odds (of course).
I kid you not.
Across the water in Hong Kong, it is also surprisingly popular with the Shekou Cornhole Federation constantly publishing lists of hilarious odds for upcoming tournaments.
Teams are typically named things like Breaking Bags, The Natural Corn Killers, Game of Throws, and We So Corny.
2. Cow Chip Tossing
In Beaver, Oklahoma, where cows outnumber humans by 16 to 1, there is a yearly World Championship Cow Chip Throwing Contest where hundreds of people gather to discover who can throw the cow $h!T the furthest.
The rules are simple. Each cow dung chip has to be a minimum of 6 inches in diameter, and all participants get only two throws. The one who throws the chip the furthest is crowned the Cow Chip Throwing Champion.
And, while you most probably won’t find the odds for this at your usual crypto Sportsbook, the locals sure have a lot of fun betting on various outcomes.
Rumor has it that if you lick your fingers between throws, you’ll have both good luck and a better grip. 🤷🏽♂️
In 2015, Drew Russel, a Beaver local became the World Record Holder for tossing his cow dung chip a whopping 188 feet and 6 inches.

3. Ro-Sham-Bo / Rock, Paper, Scissors
If you ever thought that rock, paper scissors was only a game that you played with your sibling to see who got to the biggest slice of a cake, you got it all wrong.
If you’ve been living under a rock all these years, the game involves simultaneous hand signals between two players. There are three hand signals – rock, paper, scissors, and the outcome of the game is determined by the rules – scissors beat paper, rock beats scissors, and paper beats rock.
For folks like you and me, it might be an amusing, whimsical pastime but for the World Rock Paper Scissors Association society, it’s most definitely not as they are 100% committed to the idea that Ro-Sham-Bo is very much a sport.
There is even a yearly World Championship that takes place in the US, Europe, and Canada, and the game is also featured in the Gambling Olympics.

4. Rodeo
In Deer Trail, Colorado in 1869, Rodeo was born. And, although most of us see this as a fun-fair event, it is actually an official sport in states like Texas, South Dakota, and Wyoming.
Today, it is an umbrella of different practices like steer wrestling, calf roping, and bronco riding, with the most heavily featured event (when it comes to betting) being bull riding.
The aim of the sport is to stay on a bucking bull’s back for longer than 8 seconds. If the cowboy pulls it off, he wins, if not, the bull wins.
That being said, you can bet on both the cowboy or the bull and Sportsbooks focus their Rodeo offers on the sport’s largest yearly event – the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). It’s kind of like the Super Bowl of Bull Riding and a pretty big deal.

5. Quidditch
Muggle Quidditch was actually inspired by the best-selling book series about Harry Potter. And, although it has been adapted for fans to play in real life, sadly there aren’t any flying broomsticks or a magic snitch but surprisingly, traditional broomsticks are part of the game, and so is a snitch.
The game is played on a hockey-sized field with 3 (different-sized) hoops on both sides of the field, and it is played with two teams of between 7 to 21 players on each side.
All players run with broomsticks between their legs and the aim of the game is to accumulate as many points as possible before the snitch is caught.
Snitch you say? Yes, the snitch is a tennis ball inside a long sock that hangs from the shorts of an official who is dressed in yellow.

What’s next? Maybe a game of tag or maybe even hide and seek.
Who knows, but by the looks of it, there actually are a couple of obscure markets out there.
If you’d like to give it a bash and bet on these crazy sports, you’ll need to keep an eye out for big tournaments, like a World Championship for example, and then find a sportsbook that gives you the best odds.
