Listen up, cowboys! Today is the day when we ride into the sunset with The Good, The Bad and The Rich slot. So grab your hat, holster, strap on a pair of leather chaps and let’s saddle up.
Red Tiger Gaming is the one dropping a new Wild West slot with an obvious shout out to the legendary Clint Eastwood spaghetti western. You know, the one with one of the most epic theme songs ever created.
Being a western fan growing up, I like the title but naming the slot The Good, The Bad and The Rich also comes with a lot of expectations because of the movie, so let’s see if it can live up to them.
No Distractions to Worry About
Red Tiger hasn’t wasted any effort on an exciting backdrop or anything other than the 5×3 reel setup. In other words there are no distractions to worry about. Do I agree with the decision? Not at all.
I believe it’s nice to have something fun to look at, other than the reels, that pushes the theme even more. Most providers think all that’s needed is to throw in a cowboy, some guns and a sheriff badge and all is well.
As far as the graphics go, there are some nice detailed symbols like the double guns, cash register etc. If you look closely at the cowboy hat in the screenshot above, you can see the playing cards.
The overall look is quite basic and I think Red Tiger could’ve done more. You will be playing with 25 paylines in the base game but you can get up to 243 of them, courtesy of the features.

Your Game Progress is the Key to Success
From your very first spin you will be able to spot the Game Progress counter on top of the reels. Whenever you land the two golden guns, known as the Progress Scatter, your count will get a +1 boost, bringing you one step closer to unlocking the next feature. As you can see you’ll need to get 10 of them before that happens.
Unlock the 3 Features
The slot has 3 different stages and your job is to unlock them one at a time by collecting progress scatters. When one is unlocked, it will be applied to the next spin. After that, it can be randomly triggered by any spin.
Should you unlock two or all three features, it is possible to see more than one of them being triggered and applied to the same spin. Keep in mind that just because you have triggered a feature, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee a winning spin. However, if you do get a winless spin, the feature will remain active until you get a win.
I managed to unlock all 3 features and these are the ones and what they will do for you:
Remove Royals
The first feature is “Remove Royals,” meaning that all royal symbols are removed from the reels and will not land in the resulting spin.
Random Wilds
With the second feature unlocked, a random number of Wilds will appear on reels 2, 3 and 4.
243 Ways & Stacked
Paying symbols come in stacks of 3 and wins are paid as win ways with 243 maximum possible ways to pay in a spin.
For me, I think the Random Wilds feature was the one who worked the best for me. You can see in the image above how it helps open up the paylines and it gave me a nice payout.
Use the Feature Buy
Man, I don’t know how many spins I played without even getting a sniff of the bonus round and it was time to throw in the towel and open up the bank. That’s right, I said it. I had to use the Feature Buy just to find out what the Free Spins are all about. Did I like it? No! How did I do? Keep on reading and you’ll find out.
If all you are looking for is a feature, you have that option as well and as you can see, it’s a lot cheaper.
The Good, The Bad and The Rich Free Spins
Even the wildest of wests have Free Spins and I expect nothing less. As always, it comes down to landing scatters and in this case, they are hard to miss. If you’re curious to see how generous Red Tiger can be, I’ll ask you to manage your expectations because it’s nothing too exciting.
- 3 Scatters = 10 Free Spins
- 4 Scatters = 12 Free Spins
- 5 Scatters = 15 Free Spins
There is a way to pick up some more and all you have to do is to unlock one of the features. Each triggered feature during the bonus round will get you 1 additional Free Spin.
The Fat Lady Sang Like Never Before
After a horrible run in the base game and eventually having to pay $20 for 10 Free Spins, I expected to have a successful bonus round. It turned out to be one of the quickest bonus rounds I’ve ever been a part of.
I barely had the chance to see what was happening until the fat lady started singing and letting me know it was all over. My total win was a ridiculous $2.84. You can guess how happy I was! Incredibly disappointing.
The Good, The Bad and The Rich – Pass or Play? ❌
I did manage to land a Super Win at one point in the game, which is always nice and it gives you a better feeling about the game, but is it enough? In this case it’s not.
The game has some features that I enjoyed. For example, I do like chasing the scatters to fill the progress bar in order to unlock the features. This gives me something specific to focus on and adds some excitement to each and every spin. It can also be negative because it’s easy to get blind to how much money you’re actually spending as you only focus on running up the number.
A Feature Buy and Free Spins go a long way in my book but I felt like the base game in particular was quite slow and felt a bit boring for my taste, even with the Game Progress.
There are better Wild West themed slots available on the market that I prefer over this one. The Money Train series by Relax Gaming and Nolimit City’s Tombstone series, just to name a few.
When it comes down to it, the question I have to ask myself is will I come back to play this game again? No, I can’t see that happening, which is why I have to say The Good, The Bad and The Rich is a pass for me ❌
