Fighting is not an easy way to make a living and literally being locked inside an octagon doesn’t make it any less demanding. Perhaps even more so if the octagon is an unforgiving type of steel cage like the one in the newly released Nolimit City slot – The Cage.
Historically it has been challenging to transfer the vibe of cage fighting into a well-oiled slot, but after playing The Cage, I have to say there’s something different about this one.
So, why don’t you step into the octagon, hear the door slam shut behind you and I will tell you all about it.
New Style of Reel Area
I really like the look of The Cage, with the underground vibe, creating a real pressure cooker. The reel area has a 3-4-3-4-3-4-3 look and the symbols slide in very nicely on a 10 to 8 angle, giving the game a much appreciated new look.

Get Ready for the Roundhouse Kick
Jean-Claude van Damme was synonymous with the roundhouse kick back in the day but it’s also the name of a feature in The Cage. It will be triggered when 3-6 of the same symbols align diagonally in a winless spin.
This will result in something known in Wild Knockout xBomb. How many depends on your aligned symbols:
- 3 symbols = 1 Wild Knockout xBomb
- 4 symbols = 2 Wild Knockout xBombs
- 5 symbols = 3 Wild Knockout xBombs
- 6 symbols = 4 Wild Knockout xBombs
The following xBomb explosions will give you a 1x multiplier boost for each win collapse.
Title Fight Free Spins
UFC and other MMA fighters all want a shot at the title and to be able to claim the championship belt. You’ll get the chance to do the same, as soon as you can score 3 scatters that triggers the Title Fight Free Spins.
There’s more than meets the eye in terms of Free Spins in The Cage because of the different levels of fighters. As many as 4 title belt boosters will be activated one by one when you claim a belt and move onto the next challenge.
Level Up and Get Extra Spins
You will start off with 8 spins and every time you knock out your opponent, you will get another 3 spins as you move on to the next.
Scary Lineup of Fighters
Just to give you an idea of the fighters you will come across during your path to becoming the GOAT (Greatest of All Times), here are the names:
- Jim “Big Fatty” Johnsson
- Kenny “Iron Jaw” Shambles
- Artie “One Glove Man” Jefferson
- Grayson “The Constrictor” Royce
- Way “Little Dragon” Le
How can you not like these nicknames, right?
Nolimit Bonus Takes You Straight to a Title Fight
As per normal with Nolimit City, there is the option of using the Buy Bonus option and paying your way to the Free Spins rounds.
You will see 4 different options and they will cost you a pretty penny:
- Big Fatty – 68x your bet
- One Glove Man – 198x your bet
- Little Dragon – 498x your bet
- Lucky Draw – 279x your bet
My own dream of becoming the GOAT and pocket the 25,000x reward, was shattered by One Glove Man, who got the best of me. Knowing he only has one glove, doesn’t make me feel any better about it. I’ll have to lick my wounds, watch the tapes on what I did wrong, get back in the gym and build myself up again before putting my skills to the test one more time.
I did manage to get a check of 21.12 mBCH on a 0.60 mBCH at least, which made me feel a lot better about my performance. I am confident that I can come back stronger and become the champ.
What’s the Verdict on The Cage?
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by The Cage and how it plays. As I mentioned earlier, it’s very rare that any type of fighting game turns into something you’d like to come back to play again but I will gladly step into The Cage more than once
I like how the symbols shuffle and there are plenty of features to turn up the level of action even more. Nice job, Nolimit City, and for those of you that are looking for something different to sink your teeth into, give this one a shot.
