Not Even Ivan Drago Can Save Rocky From This Absolute Disaster

Nostalgia can be a very effective string to pull when it comes to creating and marketing casino games. Is it always a good thing? Hell no, and if you don’t believe or agree with me, get ready to do so as well as being disappointed. Today’s topic – Mega Fire Blaze: Rocky!

If you’re a fan of the Rocky movies, you’ll be able to spit out a few classic Stallone lines at the drop of a hat. One of the most recognized ones is of course “ It ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.”

Well, let me tell you, this latest Rocky slot by Playtech is as far from a winner as I’ve ever seen. As a matter of fact, not even Ivan Drago can save him from this absolute disaster!

I know, I know. You’re wondering what is up with these graphics, right? Sure, the 80’s was popular but that’s because it was the best the world had ever seen at that point. We’ve come a long way since then and there’s no need to use extremely mediocre graphics when it’s not necessary. I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be a problem giving Rocky a more updated look.

Having friends around often makes everything better but even that doesn’t help in this case. You will see Clubber Lang (Mr T), Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), Apollo Creed (the late Carl Weathers) and his beloved wife Adrian on the reels. The only one missing is Paulie. 

As expected, looking at the paytable, it’s the three other fighters that will pay you the most. Considering the game looks the way it does, it would help having a high RTP, big max multiplier etc but unfortunately that’s not the case as you can see here below.

Where’s Rocky?

We haven’t seen Sly as Rocky himself yet but no need to cause any drama because he’ll appear as the Wild. There’s no secret that Stallone is a vain person so I’m sure he’s happy that his symbol will always show up fully expanded and covering an entire reel.

Mega Fire Blaze: Rocky – Pass or Play?

Ok, I have to be honest and say that the Mega Fire Blaze feature wasn’t all too bad. Was it good enough to save the game and make me recommend it to whoever read this article? Nooooo!

It’s laughable how crappy the graphics are and it completely ruins any hope of having a good time for me. I tried to ignore it and give it a chance but when I noticed that nothing changed after 10-15 spins, I knew.

Mega Fire Blaze: Rocky is a knockout, in the sense that I would like to knock it out for it to never come back. I recommend watching the Rocky movies instead.

The bottom line is that I will never play this game again and unfortunately for Playtech, I hope you don’t either.
