Is luck magic or is magic luck? That’s actually a good question and I guess you can say they are both the same in a way, depending on how you look at it. If you want to make sure there’s no misconception about it, why not get both of them – problem solved. Released on August 3rd, this baby is fresh off the creative studio conveyor belt and BGaming promises that Luck & Magic is a slot that is unlike anything you’ve played before. That’s a pretty powerful statement and it made me curious to see what they mean by that.

As soon as I opened the game, I could see what they were talking about. Luck & Magic has a different look. Instead of the familiar 5×3 reels, we’ll have to settle for 3×3. The symbols are face-down cards that will flip when you press spin.
Looking at the symbols, these characters confuse me even more and I’m not clear on what the theme really is. They do look like World of Warcraft rip offs, do you agree?

In terms of features, there’s not a lot going on here so I guess we’ll have to press spin and hope the casino Gods are in a good mood. There is a bonus round though, which always helps and it should come as no surprise that you’ll need to catch 3 bonus symbols in order to get an invitation.

Once you’ve made your choice, your card will be turned face up and reveal your multiplier. This is what the bonus game is all about. I was expecting Free Spins or something similar but it’s all about picking a card and winning a multiplier.

After your multiplier has been revealed, you will also see what else you could’ve won. Like always, sometimes you win big and sometimes you draw the short straw. I managed to make it to the bonus game twice and the first time, I pulled a 12x multiplier, which felt like a slap in the face when I saw the others.

My second turn resulted in a much more appealing 150x. However, knowing that you can get as much as 999x, there will always be a part of you that is disappointed. A Mega Win is still a Mega Win and you can’t complain too much when you bet the minimum $0.10.

Ok, I have to be honest and tell you that I couldn’t score enough bonus symbols to get to the bonus round so I chickened out and used the short cut, the Buy Bonus feature.
With a $0.10 bet, the asking price turned out to be $8. I don’t always use the Bonus Buy option but I do prefer games who have it as I think you should always have the option.

Overall
So, as I mentioned in the beginning. When BGaming hyped it all up, saying that Luck & Magic is unlike anything you’ve played before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. It did however feel like it was different as soon as I started to play.
First it was the look of it, the reel setup etc. This was followed by the fact that there was only one special feature, which also turned out to be different than I was expecting. The game might not be completely unique but it was definitely different from what I was used to.
It’s not a bad game, but I would’ve liked some other feature. The graphics are great but unless you make it to the bonus round, it can get quite boring.
