Sic Bo is an underrated game and it’s time to bring it back into the spotlight. The question is… do you know how to be a winner?
The Fascinating Game of Sic Bo
While everyone has heard about Blackjack and Roulette, the fascinating game of Sic Bo continues to operate in the shadows. Fact is, it’s an ancient game which originated in China and is actually one of the easiest games you can possibly play. In my opinion it’s an underrated game.
It has been able to stand the test of time and believe it not, Sic Bo is one of the most popular games in the world.
It All Comes Down to 3 Dice
As a game, you can say that Sic Bo is as straightforward as roulette but instead of trying to predict where the ball will end up, your faith comes down to three dice. With this many dice in play, it’s clearly difficult to guess the correct outcome.
Let’s face it, we all want to master games and play like a pro but we don’t want to put in the hours it takes to get there. Fortunately for you, there are some things I can show you that will be helpful in turning you into a Sic Bo Jedi.
Let’s roll!
Learn the Probabilities
Like most dice games, unless you switch out the actual dice for a faulty one, you can’t cheat. However, there are ways to give yourself the upper hand (advantage?). While you can’t cheat in Sic Bo without changing the dice, you can give yourself an upper hand.
Since Sic Bo is a game of probabilities, after a while you will begin to notice patterns starting to emerge from which you can figure out percentages.
Cash In Your Pocket
These probabilities are your best bet at beating the house and walking out with a load of cash in your pocket.
Since I know neither of us have the patience to figure that out on our own, I have made sure to secure the information.
The Probabilities When Using 3 Dice
By using 3 dice instead of 2, it changes the probabilities completely. If you can memorize the table below, or at least part of it, you will be able to get yourself closer to coming out on top.
- Rolling a 3 = 0.5% probability
- Rolling a 4 = 1.4% probability
- Rolling a 5 = 2.8% probability
- Rolling a 6 = 4.6% probability
- Rolling a 7 = 7% probability
- Rolling an 8 = 9.7% probability
- Rolling a 9 = 11.6% probability
- Rolling a 10 = 12.5% probability
- Rolling an 11 = 12.5% probability
- Rolling a 12 = 11.6% probability
- Rolling a 13 = 9.7% probability
- Rolling a 14 = 7% probability
- Rolling a 15 = 4.6% probability
- Rolling a 16 = 2.8% probability
- Rolling a 17 = 1.4% probability
- Rolling an 18 = 0.5% probability
Do you see what I’m talking about?
Low, Medium or High Risk Play?
Just like in any other casino game you can choose whether you want to play it safe, take medium risk or go all in for the big wins. You will have to answer the same question when playing Sic Bo.
Don’t worry, I will give you some strategies on each of them and you can decide for yourself what suits your style of play.
Play It Safe
Playing low risk and trying to keep it safe can sometimes feel and seem incredibly boring, especially with 1:1 payouts. But, over time you will be able to build up a nice account balance and if you’re not in a hurry to make the big bucks, maybe this is the way to go.
One way to play it safe in Sic Bo would be to bet on Odd/Even or Small/Big. It’s easy to figure out Odd vs Even but what’s big and what’s small?
- Small = 4-10
- Big = 11-17
Betting this way means you’ll always have a 50/50 chance but the payout will only be 1:1.
Medium Risks
If you want to play with medium risk, I suggest betting on more than one combination. In fact, there are two ways you could play and I’ve included an example of bet size.
Strategy 1 bet on Sic Bo Dragons
Strategy 1
Bet €3 on number 9 + €2 on Double 1, 5 and 6 which equals a €9 bet. Should the sum of the dice end up being 9, you will win 24:1 and you will win the same amount if any of your double combinations land.
Strategy 2 bet
Strategy 2
How about putting €3 on 12 + €2 on a Double 1, 2 and 6. Your winnings will be the same as with Strategy 1, a 24:1 payout.
You are free to pick other combos of course but the trick here is to bet on a few different combinations. Each round you will have 4 chances of winning and even though you are taking some risk with 4 bets, you should be able to scoop up some nice wins.
High Risk High Reward
Personally I’m not a high risk, high reward kind of player but I know people who are. There’s no doubt you can make a pretty penny in Sic Bo and if there’s a little daredevil inside of you, winning on a specific triple will pay 150:1, some games even 180:1.
This memes if you were to put €10 on a triple 6, you would cash in on €1,500.
All in on triple 6 pays 150:1
Slim Chances but a Mighty Payout
Just a reminder that for a triple to go through, it means that all 3 dice must land on the same number. It doesn’t happen often but when it does and it’s your bet, Cha-ching!
If this is the way you want to go, my recommendation is that you try to squeeze in another 2 or 3 other bets on the side to help yourself.
Triple 4’s
Let’s say you place your money on triple 4s, you might want to play on two numbers and perhaps a Double as well. This will give you 4 different ways to win and with that better odds of winning instead of betting on one big win.
You could always put €3 on number 12 + €2 on Double 1, 2 and 6. This will pay you a nice 24:1 win.
