Slots and table game provider, Habanero, is celebrating its expansion in Africa with a landmark agreement with prominent brand, Betway. This deal will take Habanero’s collection of gaming titles to the country of Ghana through the one tier Super Group operator.
Habanero is a casino game creator that is immensely popular in both the Asian and Western gaming markets. It has over 100 games in HTML5 in its portfolio, which are certified for 16 markets. More so, the studio offers multi-everything – over 28 languages, any currency which includes cryptocurrencies, all in a multi-tenant setting. It releases new games every month which work seamlessly across all devices.
Betway Africa is one of the continent’s leading operators and licensed Africa-facing brands. It is enjoyed across several regulated African markets which include South Africa, Uganda, and Kenya.
As part of the agreement and through the Betway Africa brand, Habanero’s high-performing games like Wild Trucks, Hot Hot Fruit, and Egyptian Dreams will be available to Betway Ghana players.
In its regional expansion, entering Ghana is a significant milestone for Habanero. This is so, because this particular market is second to Nigeria for total player numbers and gaming revenue. It is also expected to be a pivotal step forward in the provider’s continued expansion across Africa’s regulated territories.
Arcangelo Lonoce, Habanero’s Head of Business Development Europe commented on the deal saying, “This deal is a decisive move forward in our penetration of Africa’s regulated landscape, and we see the highly dynamic African market as a truly promising area for Habanero to continue to grow in.”
“Now live in Ghana, we can’t wait to start introducing our games to more and more players there than ever before!”, Lonoce continues.
Also commenting on this momentous venture, Betway Ghana’s Head of Marketing, Kwabena Oppong-Nkrumah adds, “Betway has always considered Africa as a distinctive market, one where we can grow exponentially. Thanks to the latest deal with Habanero, we can now strengthen our leading position with the studio’s hugely exciting titles.”
Habanero has had a successful year in the areas of expanding their presence in new markets, as well as having celebrated its MGA certification in January. In the recent months, the gaming studio signed multiple deals with several major global operators on its plight for tier one expansion and worldwide reach.
In 2021 alone, Habanero netted its MGA license, and made its Paraguay, Spain, Argentina debuts. It also deepened its Italian reach with platform provider Blox, boosted its Spain and Latin American reach with Emara Play, increased its Lithuanian presence with 7bet, and continued its Spanish expansion with Codere. The game provider was awarded an online license to supply Romanian operators with its games, and struck a deal with fast-growing European platform provider EGT Digital.
Habanero is clearly jet-setting, making moves, and strengthening its position in the iGaming market. If this success can all be accredited to one year alone, then we very much look forward to seeing what 2022 has in store for this high-performing software studio.
