I know a lot of people have been waiting for the NFL to start the season and it is time! You can get your first taste of it later tonight with the Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs play the Detroit Lions.
We also have the finals of the US Open this weekend, World Cup Basketball, a huge UFC Card and the second game of NCAA Football. You might as well cancel your weekend plans because as you can see, your schedule is already full!
Let’s take a look at the odds on offer.
1) NFL – Season Opening
This is the favorite week of the year for a lot of sports fans. Why? Because it’s the season opening of the new NFL season.
We’ll be kicking off later tonight with defending champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, taking on the Detroit Lions at Arrowhead Stadium.
Trouble in Paradise
The Chiefs are looking to capture another Lombardi trophy but there’s trouble in paradise. Future Hall of Famer, tight end Travis Kelce, is listed as questionable due to an over extended knee earlier this week.
I believe Patrick Mahomes will be able to pull it off anyway and I wouldn’t be surprised if we’ll see Mr Kelce make an appearance after all. His playtime might be limited though.
All other games will be played on Sunday, as always!
2) US Open – Men’s and Women’s Semi-Finals
We have reached the final weekend of this year’s US Open. Both men and women are down to the final four and you can look forward to some epic matches. Ahead of the semi-finals being played, I think we’re looking at another battle between Alcaraz and Djokovic in the final on Sunday.
For the women it’s a bit more open, especially after Iga Swiatek being eliminated in the fourth round. Will young Coco Gauff be able to win it all? Trust me, the stadium would go absolutely insane!

3) NCAA Football – Colorado vs Nebraska
It’s only been one game but the NCAA Football season is off to a hot start. We were all wondering what Coach Prime could do with Colorado but who expected them to beat last year’s runner up TCU? Watching his son, Shedeur Sanders, throw for 510 yards in his first game as the quarterback proved that Colorado has something special going on.
Immediately getting a ton of media attention, the Buffaloes are taking on Nebraska this Saturday. Can Coach Prime’s boys make another statement at home? I’d be willing to bet on it!
Also, don’t forget about the other games like Alabama vs Texas and Georgia vs Ball State.
4) UFC 293 – Adesanya vs Strickland in Sydney, Australia
Welcome to Australia and a very interesting UFC main card. The last stylebender, Israel Adesanya, is once again defending his Middleweight championship belt. This time he will take on the trash talking Sean Strickland. I don’t know about you, but my money is on Adesanya!
Then there’s Australia’s own Tai “Bam Bam” Tuivasa. He will be fighting the Russian giant Alexander Volkov and it’s going to be a battle. At the moment, the two fighters are ranked #6 and #7 in the Heavyweight division.
5) FIBA World Cup Basketball
Things are heating up in the FIBA World Cup. Team USA was slapped with their first loss against Lithuania. Is this a sign of what to expect going forward or will it work as a wake up call and get the guys going?
There’s still a lot of basketball to be played but as we get closer to the end, the games get tougher and every team wants to knock out the US. How will they handle the pressure?
There’s More Betting Action Available
It’s going to be a great weekend of sports. Remember, there is a ton more action to bet on besides what I’ve mentioned above. You’ve got MLB Baseball and Premier League plus much more.
Head over to your favorite sportsbook and lay down your bets. Good luck!
