With the endless amount of Christmas games flowing in, there’s always a risk of getting your holiday spirit ruined before we actually get there. Sometimes all you need is a break from Christmas and all the reminders that are in your face all day, every day. We get it, ok!

I admit, this one caught me off guard, folks. I understand that today is December 7th but I was not aware of it being the anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack. The reason I now know that is because of the new release from the creative dungeons at NoLimit City.
So, if you’re ready for something other than Santa and the rest, feast your eyes on Pearl Harbor.

It’s All About Cluster Wins
Just like that dreadful early morning in 1941, there are a lot of things happening in the Pearl Harbor game. Explosions, Dog Fights, Bomb Drops and Kamikaze attacks, it’s all going down on a grandios 7×7 grid.

Create Clusters to Win
You’ll need to put together clusters of at least 5 symbols for a win and by doing so, you will also open up the cluster for more chances, like a classic avalanche feature. There are some helpers available that can open things up for you and I will go through them all, don’t worry.
Fire in the hole
xBomb Wild Multiplier
I told you there would be explosions taking place and nothing blows the grid up like the xBomb Wild. It will blast away 10 symbols surrounding its position. Should an xBomb get split by an xSplit Samurai sword, it will bring you a 2x multiplier for the first split and increase it by 2 with each new split.
Your win multiplier will keep increasing after an explosion as well.

xSplit
The Samurai swords I mentioned earlier belong to the xSplit feature and will cut your symbols in half. If you get more than one of them, there will be slicing and dicing all around.
Dog Fight anyone?
Get Ready for a Dog Fight
Interestingly enough, the scatter in this game is the Japanese flag. If you can land 3 of them, you’ll trigger the Dog Fight feature. This means you should get ready to fight because you will become a fighter pilot and maneuver the plane from the cockpit.

Spinning Dials
All 18 instrument dials will start to spin and you can get positive or negative multipliers. You’ll have 3 spins to land one and if you do, the count will reset once again and you can keep going.

Dog Fight Attack
When an entire column is filled up, it’s time for a proper Dog Fight. All your multipliers are activated. If the enemy plane is hit, your multipliers will be summed up but if you miss, nothing happens besides you lose a spin.
Kamikaze Attack
Should all 18 dials be filled, you will launch a Kamikaze Attack. When this happens, a multiplier reel with 10 possible multipliers will spin as your aircraft is approaching a target ship.
If you hit the ship, your multiplier from the wheel will multiply with the total round multiplier from the full bonus round. This is a lot, I know, but you’ll see once you get there.

Let’s Add Them Up
In the end, all your multipliers will be added up and hopefully you’ll get a nice win out of it. I did actually get a very nice one. On a €0.20 bet, I won €56.80!
Tora! Tora! Tora!
If you can score 4 scatters instead of 3, it’s time to get ready for the Tora! Tora! Tora! feature. This works just like the Dog Fight but with two extra additions:
- Midway Pop – This is when a multiplier lands on a dial in the middle. The amount value will pop up to the top row. If there’s already a value there, the new one will be added to make it even bigger.
- Bomb Drop – Fill an entire row of dials for this to kick in. This opens up the bomb hatch and drop a bomb. Your reward depends on whether or not you can hit the ship.

As always with Nolimit City games, there’s an option of paying for your bonus round entrance and I’ve always been a fan of this feature. It doesn’t always pay off but sometimes it REALLY pays off.

Watch out for the enemy
Top Gun Maverick
I don’t think you need to be Tom Cruise to appreciate the art of fighter jets. Pearl Harbor is far from Top Gun Maverick and it does feel a bit strange with the U.S vs Japan storyline but we look past that, I think Pearl Harbor is a really good game.
It’s definitely different from anything I’ve seen in a long time and it definitely breaks up the monotony of only playing Christmas games. So, if you’re looking for a change of scenery, I’m not sure there’s anything out there that will get the job done better than Pearl Harbor.
