Illinois has been praised for its post-COVID-19 action plan to help the state recover, but as casinos in the state are allowed to reopen, the state’s government has issued a stark warning.
In early June, the Chicago General Assembly gave a casino reopening plan the green light, but this week it warns casinos failing to follow the rules.
In the stern warning, any casinos caught breaking the rules will lose their casino license.
Open, But No Masks…
The Chicago General Assembly (CGA) set out a plan for any casinos in the state wishing to reopen following COVID-19 closures, and it’s not offered a strong warning to those breaking the rules.
Any casino caught breaking the rules on social distancing, sanitization or enforcement of masks inside establishments will lose their licenses indefinitely.
In the same plans, the CGA said that casinos will be able to receive up to $45 million to help with losses incurred during the hardship of COVID-19.
It’s still unclear whether casinos that took this incentive and break the rules will have to pay it back or not.
Las Vegas Following Suit
Following a busy 4th July weekend, Las Vegas casinos are starting to spread rumors that they may close down for a short period.
In photos taken from the strip over the weekend, thousands of people can be seen congregating, failing to adhere to the strict guidelines set out by the Nevada Gaming Commission.
If these rules are found to be broken, a second wave of COVID-19 could sweep through the city, causing casinos to close down once more.
However, several big casinos have replied to the rumors, stating that they are false. But a rise in case numbers will undoubtedly see Sin City close down once more.
The Best Action is Still Online
With all that’s going on in the world, the best online casino action is still online.
It’s far safer and you don’t need to worry about contaminated games, chips or cards – who knows who played before you.
Pennsylvania reported that in May there was more than $1 billion in slot wagers alone, showing that online slots are still very popular.
COVID-19 has forced many online casinos to up their game, offering more games, a better user experience and more payment options.
Not only that, Bitcoin casino welcome bonuses have grown into huge bonuses that rival those of the comp points you can get in Vegas casinos.
Stay Safe. Stay Home.
COVID-19 is still sweeping across the US with alarming numbers being reported every day.
For now, it looks as if people are hellbent on forcing casinos to close their doors again as they flaunt the rules and disobey government decisions.
As of today, the safest place to play casino games is still from the comfort of your own home, away from the crowds and masses.
You can get the very best welcome bonuses and use the saved money from fuel and accommodation on having more fun!
