This new release from Push Gaming brings something different to players and in some ways, the game is a breath of fresh air.
Dieselpunk All Around
With the new Mad Cars slot, I get immediate flashbacks to the latest Mad Max movie, the one with Tom Hardy and I mean this is the best possible way. The style is just different than in most games and although it’s not quite Steampunk, it is known as the even cooler name which is Dieselpunk.
Even some of the characters would fit right into the Mad Max world, which is known for having let’s call it “very interesting” looking characters.
A different kind of setting
Finally Something Different
Push Gaming is the team behind the release and I want to give them credit for trying to come up with something different. There are some similarities in looks from other providers such as Mascot and Hacksaw, probably because those are two providers that bring a different look.
The One Chink in the Armor
A 96.39% RTP, high volatility and a 25,000x max multiplier are all respectful numbers and makes it an interesting game on paper. The only chink in the armour from the get go is that fiat is the only accepted currency. At least for now.
You can find the game at King Billy, Fight Club Casino, Oshi.io and BitStarz among other places.
As you start to play, there are some helpers that can come and pitch in from time to time. Since the game is called Mad Cars, there is an evident focus on vehicles and these helpers are known as Instant Prize Car symbols.
They can appear on all reels but only one on each of them. These are the guys that will bring you win multipliers and they can be quite generous.
In terms of multipliers, you can get anywhere between 1x all the way up to 100x. Not bad at all, right?
One of the best things is the fact that the Instant Prize Car symbols will stick around on the reels until they have been rewarded.
The race is on
More Help On the Way
Believe it or not, there are a lot of other small gems involved and they’re all more than welcome in my book.
Above the reels is a Boost Reel and this is where these little nuggets will appear and if they can help, they will.
- Multiplier – Will give you a nice win boost of up to 100x
- Gas – Moves the car symbols upwards. It can move you 1-6 steps at once
- Multiplier & Gas – A combo of the ones above. No surprise there
- Survivor – Stops the car symbol from spinning off the reels when you don’t want it to
These are your options if you want to pay for a bonus round
Fuel Up and Win With Mad Bonus
I haven’t mentioned anything about a buy feature yet but you’ll be glad to know there is one. Since I wanted to check out the bonus round, I opted to take them up on it and chose the cheapest version, the Mad Bonus.
Get ready to win
Can You Make It to the Top?
The scene will change instantly and you will be watching it all from above. Starting off with 7 Free spins, there are 5 instant price cars sitting on the bottom, ready to push the pedal to the metal, just for you.
Fill up on the gas and get a boost
Extra Spins Await
You want as many of them as possible to reach all the way to the top before you run out of spins. Not only will they give you an increasing win multiplier, but you will also get an extra spin for every car that makes it.
When it happens, a new car will take its place at the bottom.
Keep going all the way up
The Boost Reel
For the cars to move up, you need to get lucky on the Boost Reel. Each spin can give you a different amount of boosts and also different levels.
Look at that multiplier grow in the top left
Need Help?
Let’s say if a 3 shows up on a reel, that car will get some extra gas and move 3 steps up. You can get the same symbols as in the base game but there are a few noteworthy additions:
- Line Up – If it is used on an Instant Prize Car, all other cars will line up at the same spot
- Persistent Payer – This guy can give you its own prize on that spin or the next one
- Persistent Collector – Collects all values from the Instant Prize Cars
- Persistent Payer Collector Combo – Combines the above two in the best way possible
Not quite what I had hoped for
Not a Happy Camper
I was excited about seeing how much I would manage to take home from the Mad Bonus round. After all, I did pay the €11.57 fee in the Buy feature to get there so imagine the let down I felt after only managing to scoop up €4.50.
That’s normally how I judge the effectiveness of a bonus round. If I have gone through the trouble to go through the Bonus Buy option, the last thing I expect is to get my money back. I know it doesn’t work that way but that doesn’t mean I don’t want it to be that way.
You Will Have a Good Time
Ok, if you didn’t actually end up winning much or anything at all but you still had a good time playing, that means it’s a good game. Win or lose, a positive experience is what we are looking for after all.
I had fun exploring Mad Cars and I believe you will as well. There are a lot of modifiers and features that add some spice to the game and the entire vibe is different than most games, giving it a bit of an edge that I appreciate.
I will definitely give Mad Cars another chance and it’s not always I have that feeling after trying a new game. When they turn things up a notch and add crypto as an option, it’ll be even better.
Enjoy the game!
