Elon Musk has spoken once again and gives the green light to the world to buy their new favorite Tesla and use cryptocurrency as payment.
News Breaking Tweet
When Elon Musk speaks, the world listens and that’s exactly what happened when Musk sent out his news breaking tweet “You can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin” to his almost 50 million followers.
The highly popular Tesla CEO sent the world of cryptocurrency into a frenzy in February when he announced that his Tesla company had made a $1.5 billion investment in Bitcoin and hinting that the car company shortly would begin to accept BTC as payment.
A Massive Increase in Value
When the news hit, it caused the price of Bitcoin to jump a massive 17% and by Musk now confirming that the company has enabled BTC as a mode of payment for its products, it bumped up the price another 5%.
“Tesla is using only internal & open-source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly. BTC paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency. Pay by BTC capability available outside the US later this year,” said Musk.

In other words, if you have been wanting to get your hands on a brand new Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, Cybertruck or something else Tesla related, your chances of being able to get one are greater than ever before.
More Companies to Follow
For bitcoin investors, this is excellent news and it will be interesting to see what other Fortune 500 corporations will follow suit.
During 2021 alone, several companies around the world have started accepting Bitcoin as payment as the interest of cryptocurrency around the globe has been surging. Reports have been made saying the number of global crypto users have now surpassed 106 million.
Major corporations such as Home Depot, Starbucks, AT&T and Whole Foods are some of the other companies allowing the use of cryptocurrency and we expect this list to grow rapidly as the year goes by.
