Imagine being the owner of an NFL team that is playing a home game on your 82nd birthday. Exciting, right? Then imagine your team taking the biggest beating since you bought them and losing 47-9! That’s exactly what happened to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones last weekend. What a nightmare of a birthday!
These situations can happen in sports, which is also why so many people get so emotionally invested. It can be a rough ride but it can be just as amazing if you are on the winning side. The same goes for sports betting!
Who’s ready to be on the winning side?
1) NFL – Week 7
There are some big time games coming up in week 7. For example, I expect games like the Vikings vs Lions, Packers vs Texans and the 49ers vs Chiefs to be great in terms of watching but a bit too close to call for my taste in terms of betting.
Instead, I’ve picked four other games that I feel should be a little more one sided and therefore less of a risk. We’ve seen some unexpected upsets so far this season, creating some hiccups for sports bettors out there, including myself. It’s time to pick some winners and get back on the winning train once again, so here are my NFL picks for this week.
An Offensive Shootout
The Panthers are one of the worst teams so far. Even though the offense has looked pretty good, both teams have been struggling in terms of defense which isn’t going to help you win any games. Will this turn into an offensive shootout? I’m leaning that way and I think Jayden Daniels will pull it off for the Commanders.
Washington Commanders vs Carolina Panthers
🏈 My Pick – Commanders 🏈
Odds: 1.25
Extended Losing Streak
Coming into week 7 with a struggling defense and a 3-game losing streak is not a great feeling. On top of that you’re facing a QB in Kirk Cousins that knows how to put points on the board? No, the Seahawks are looking at another loss and the Falcons will go to 5-2.
Atlanta Falcons vs Seattle Seahawks
🏈 My Pick – Falcons 🏈
Odds: 1.67
The Battle of Ohio
Let’s face it, the battle of Ohio isn’t quite what we thought it would be when the season started. The Browns are just horrible on offense and trading Amari Cooper is not making things better. They should get some help from the return of Nick Chubb however.
Bengals on the other hand have similar issues on the defensive side of the ball. It’s time for Joe Burrow to step up and show who’s the number one team in the state. The fact that the Bengals have scored at least 33 points in 3 of the last 4 showdowns proves it’s more than just luck.
Cleveland Browns vs Cincinnati Bengals
🏈 My Pick – Bengals 🏈
Odds: 1.41
Josh Allen to Take Care of Business
Here’s a game that might end up to be closer than expected but the Bills will take care of business at home against the Titans. The Titans’ defense will be tough to conquer but last week’s win in a close game against the Jets gives the Bills the confidence needed for Josh Allen to take care of business.
Buffalo Bills vs Tennessee Titans
🏈 My Pick – Bills 🏈
Odds: 1.21
Odds and Payouts
I turned to Stake.com for the odds for the above 4-game parlay and they add up to 3.56x. If or when the games turn out the way I expect them to, here’s the type of payout you will be looking at:
- €20 Bet = €71
- €50 Bet = €178
- €100 Bet = €356
2) NHL
The action on the NHL ice continues and as always during the opening weeks there are several surprises, both positive and negative. Who could have predicted the Stanley Cup finalists, the Edmonton Oilers, to lose their first 3 games of the season? Utah HC winning its first 3? Connor McDavid being scoreless after 4 games? There’s obviously a ton of hockey left to be played but still.
I’ve picked a few of tonight’s game for a 4-game parlay so let’s take a look. The odds are great so it’s worth a shot even with a smaller bet.
Let’s Get Physical
Surprisingly the Canucks are looking to get their first win of the season, while the Panthers try to avoid going to .500. For whatever reason, the Canucks haven’t seemed like the Canucks I was expecting this year. The absence of Thatcher Demko can’t be the only reason and where’s Elias Pettersson?
The Panthers on the other hand might not have gotten off to a spectacular start either but they have a physical play they can depend on to get them over the hump.
Florida Panthers vs Vancouver Canucks
🏒 My Pick – Panthers 🏒
Odds: 2.43
The End of a Long Roadtrip
Losing 3 in a row is never fun but that’s the situation the Kings are in. Heading into Montreal and trying to stop the bleeding won’t be easy even if the Canadians are only a .500 team. This will be the 5th and final game of LA’s opening roadtrip and they want to go back home with a win. Unfortunately I think the Canadiens will make sure that won’t happen.
Montreal Canadiens vs Los Angeles Kings
🏒 My Pick – Canadiens 🏒
Odds: 2.50
The Stars continue to show that last year was no fluke and have been flawless this season, winning their first four games by a combined 12-5 score. There is a ton of firepower in the Dallas lineup but the defense is just as solid and I expect them to be a contender once again.
Washington doesn’t feel confident with either of their two goalies, which doesn’t help the situation. Ovie is on the hunt for Gretzky’s goal record but have yet to light the lamp this year. Will it happen against the Stars?
Washington Capitals vs Dallas Stars
🏒 My Pick – Stars 🏒
Odds: 2.06
Bedard vs Celebrini
These are two teams with a bright future ahead but a few years away still. With the Blackhawks young phenom Connor Bedard and Sharks’ first overall Macklin Celebrini in the lineups, fans can get used to the excitement.
Bedard wants to take his team from the bottom to the next level in his Sophomore year but it won’t happen overnight. Is Chicago good enough to get the win in this game? Absolutely, and I expect them to. This also happens to be their first home game of the season.
Chicago Blackhawks vs San José Sharks
🏒 My Pick – Blackhawks 🏒
Odds: 1.87
Odds and Payouts
These odds are available to you at Betfury and if you want to copy my parlay, they add up to 23.40x.
- €20 Bet = €468
- €50 Bet = €1,170
- €100 Bet = €2,340
