Have you tried the latest games from High 5 Games, Hacksaw and Play’n GO?
Christmas Is Upon Us
The fact that Christmas is only 10 days away still doesn’t make any sense to me but for every day we get closer, Santa keeps dropping off fresh new slots for us all to enjoy.
Today I’ve taken a closer look at some of the latest releases and it’s a very interesting mix of the simplest as well as highly confusing game play.
Let’s get this party started, shall we?
1) Workshop Wonders – High 5 Games
I think Workshop Wonders is exactly what it says. How so? Because after playing the game, I’m still wondering about how this workshop of a game works. I was happy to see the new layout and a different type of game.
Did I like it? Truth be told, I honestly don’t know how to respond to that. I think you need to keep reading and hopefully you’ll know what I mean.
RTP: 97.2%
Multiplier: 3,157x
Volatility: Medium
Confusion Sets In
A new style of game always excites me but as excited as I was in the beginning, it didn’t take me long until I was just as confused. Even looking at the guidelines under the game information didn’t help one bit.
Information Available Along the Way
I think High 5 Games is aware of it because there is information popping up each step of the way. You can see one of them in the image above.
Welcome to the Bonus Round
I did make it to the bonus round where you will see a different layout. Things are just as confusing, but don’t worry, the information pop ups will continue.
Shoot to Win
I mean the game looks like a ton of fun and there are tiny Zelda looking characters sliding across the bottom as you spin. These guys will fire rockets towards targets and if you hit something, you will win of course.
Verdict
I recommend you take a look at the game guidelines before playing to see if you can make sense of it all. I applaud the initiative to make a different game and to be honest it is fun.
Clearly High 5 understood how confusing it is, which is why they felt a need to add all the pop ups during both base game and bonus rounds.
Spin, shoot, collect packages and fill the various reels is the way to the big bucks and perhaps it’s intentional because it almost feels like I have to come back and play more and try to figure things out. If that’s the case, then I tip my imaginary hat to the creators.
You can play the game at BitStarz among other places.
2) Let It Snow – Hacksaw
Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé are just two of many that we’ve heard singing these words this time of year so we can’t really blame Hacksaw for wanting to capitalize on an already proven concept.
If you’ve ever played one of their games before, the style of game shouldn’t surprise you. Get ready for a 6×6 grid where creating clusters is the way to success!
RTP: 96.42%
Paylines: Cluster
Multiplier: 7,500x
Volatility: Medium/High
Spin the Bonus Wheel
I’m a big fan of Bonus Wheels and there’s a good one here. The only problem is that I never got the chance to actually play it. Surely you’ll be luckier than me and score 3 bonus symbols and trigger it. You’ll see a wheel with 8 sections and with a bit of luck you can get as many as 50 spins.
Your multiplier will start at 1x but can quickly reach more appealing levels such as 10x, 25x, 100x or even 250x.
Free Spins with Compass Spreading
By landing 3 scatters you’ll quickly trigger 10 Free Spins and the trick here is to set off the spreading symbol.
Each win will tell the compass at the top to start spinning. In whatever direction the needle stops, is where your symbol will expand. Hitting the right direction will make a huge difference and the Mega Wins will happily appear.
Verdict
My favorite feature from this game is definitely the spinning compass during Free Spins. The idea is really simple but the fact is that you end up watching the spinning needle very closely and hoping for a good outcome.
It’s usually the little things in life that make a difference and the little thing in this game is that needle.
Play the game at Kryptosino and Wild Tornado.
3) Naughty Nicks Book – Play’n GO
I have to admit I was a little thrown off by the name and wasn’t really sure what to expect if I’m being honest. Would this be a Rated R type of game and if so, what exactly would be the reason why?
As soon as the opening scene appeared (see the image above), it gave me a hint of what I was in for. Little did I know that it was all smoke and mirrors as I don’t think the actual game was anything like the title and first impression had implied.
RTP: 96.28%
Paylines: 10
Multiplier: 7,500x
Volatility: High
Things Are Getting Wild
By things getting wild, I simply mean that there are wild symbols in the game. I’m sorry if I made you think something else but the fact is that the Naughty or Nice book symbol acts as both the Wild and as the Scatter.
When you score 3 or more of them, you will be granted 8 Free Spins.
Free Spins With Expanding Symbols
During your Free Spins, a special symbol is first selected, which will then be able to expand across an entire reel. This in itself can help you get closer to the bigger wins.
Put Your Money on the Line and Double Your Wins
After each win, you’ll have the option of using the gamble feature to immediately double your winnings. Sounds great, right? It is and all you have to do is to pick the right color in a card game.
Verdict
Like I mentioned in the beginning, I don’t know why they named it Naughty Nick’s Book. Maybe I just don’t get it but it could have been called anything else and it wouldn’t have made a difference.
I feel it’s a very basic game and even the graphics look old for a brand new game. I was hoping for a fun twist but I couldn’t find one. Obviously you can win some good money here but in terms of entertainment and fun, it’s not for me.
You can party with Naughty Nick at Cloudbet and Fortune Jack
