Another Easter game is up for review and this time I’m looking at Retro Easter from Spinomenal. Will it pass my test and get the stamp of approval?
Welcome to Retro Easter
The other day I wrote about my experience playing Larry the Leprechaun Easter Edition and the lack of Easter vibe of any kind. I had fun and it’s a good slot but if you are promoting a game as an Easter treat, at least try to make it one.
So, after my first Easter experience of the year, I decided to get back on the horse and see if I could find one that’s a bit more eggs, chicks and bunnies. After looking at the options, I gave the nod to Spinomenal and their latest holiday contribution, Retro Easter.
Now this is more like it. You can feel the warmth of Easter coming through the screen and if you’re looking for a word to describe the first impression – cute.
Chicks, flowers, painted eggs, whatever you need is there. To top it off, there’s a little bunny as the wild that’s either in love with his carrot or uses it as a stuffed animal.
For players interested in RTP, this 5 reels, 20 paylines game has a theoretical RTP of 91.69% – 92.07%
Special Features
Always looking for special features, I was happy to see at least a couple worth mentioning. Retro Bet and Free Spins are there to help you win and I will go through them one by one.
Retro Bet
This little nugget is a treat and I like the fact that it’s up to you if you want to activate the Retro Bet or not. It’s just a way to try and spice things up and you know I’m always for it.
You will see the switch in the top left corner and when activated, you will see a sticky wild in the middle of the 3rd reel for each spin. In other words, smack in the middle of the action!
Flipping the switch does mean you need to pay a small fee equal to your bet size. Whether or not to do it is a conversation you need to have with yourself but if you can, why not?
Obviously I had to give the Retro Bet a shot and I was of course expecting magic from the wild bunny.
After a couple of spin with no luck, things were about to change. Boom – a big win just landed in my lap and all of a sudden I enjoyed the game just a bit more! It doesn’t take much.
Clearly a feature that should be a part of any slot according to me. It gives you something to work towards besides just focusing on the win.
I got the job done and was invited to the show after landing 3 scatters which gave me 15 Free Spins which is not a bad payout. If I had managed to get 4 scatters I would have gotten 30 Free Spins and 5 would have resulted in a very nice 50 Free Spins.
There is nothing special about these Free Spins and it’s quite an average experience to be honest. However, winning big always helps and I actually manage to pull off a Mega win!
I was betting as low as 1.6 mBCH and after it was all said and done, a nice 16,68 mBCH trickled into my account. Hey, I’ll take it!
If you are a player that enjoys getting into the right mode during Christmas, Easter or whatever holiday, the Retro Easter slot might do the trick.
It’s a pretty average game if you ask me. There’s nothing wrong with it at all but it doesn’t really do anything for me and perhaps it’s a bit too childish for my taste. Once again, the word cute comes to mind and that’s not what I’m looking for in a slot.
I did manage to pull off a few nice wins but I don’t expect to spin the Retro Easter reels again any time soon.
You can find the game at mBit, BitStarz and 7Bit Casino among others.
